Having already visited Battleship Park in Mobile and reviewing potential places of interest, Birmingham was downgraded to a stopover on my way to Nashville and not a destination.
That said, after visiting the Martin Luther King, Jr. national historic site , I understood the city’s significance and the location of Civil Rights Institute more clearly.
